Learning objectives

  • Recognize your deliverables and tasks within the Product Creation Process (PCP) and map your role to the V-model framework.
  • Gain a solid foundation in creating requirements documents, utilizing templates and guidelines, and practicing the Inspection Review technique.
  • Familiarize yourself with the fundamentals of risk analysis.


Program

Evening 1: Monday February 10th: First Steps

Explore the organization of product development within the PCP and the V-model framework.

Homework: Review the PCP used at your company and identify your role within it.

Evening 2: Monday February 24th: Understanding & Applying requirements

Master the basics of requirement creation and defect identification in documentation through review practice, utilizing real-world case studies. Learn how templates and guidelines support robust documentation.

Homework: Familiarize yourself with review types, rules, and roles at your organization.

Evening 3: Monday March 10th: Applying risk analysis & model-based system engineering

Risk analysis is essential to focus development resources effectively. Discover methods for conducting risk analysis on your system. We’ll also introduce Model-Based System Engineering with a practical example.

Jacco van de Laar brings over 25 years of experience in product development across machinery, medical devices, and semiconductors. A true expert in his field, Jacco has worked on both sides of the V-model, from system engineering to system release, making him uniquely equipped to guide you through complex concepts with clarity.
