Project Based Working Dynamics

Project Based Working Dynamics

Training overview

The term “project” is used differently within companies or universities. Therefore working in a project can be very confusing due all the different terms which are being used and the different styles of execution of the project. This training is meant for project team members who would like to understand what the dynamics in a project are, but also people who consider a role as Project Leader.

Target audience

Do you recognize the following statements?

  • I’m relatively new (< 1 year) in working in projects, at least in a corporate setting.
  • I sometimes feel overwhelmed by my project environment and all the different terms and procedures.
  • I do not understand why sometimes the project leader decides and sometimes another person. What are all those roles in a project? And what is my role?
  • I get confused about the different phases of a project. They seem to change over time.
  • I sometimes have to help out in setting up a project. But I have no clue how to do that.

And? Did you recognize yourself in (some of) the statements? Then this training addresses just what you need to feel more ‘at ease’ in a challenging project environment!

Learning objectives

  • speak the language of project leaders with respect to the project related terminology
  • understand why every project (small or large) goes through the same sequence of different phases.
  • understand the different roles inside a project team and towards stake holders, like a steering board.
  • when being asked to do so, I will be able to take the main steps to set-up, run and close a project.
  • be able to be chairman of a meeting, not only focussing on content but also on interaction between participants and a good way of conducting the meeting.
  • be able to steering the decision making process when making important decisions
  • understand the Prince II project methodology.

The trainers will make sure that the evenings have sufficient room for theory, practice and questions, in a pleasant and safe atmosphere. You as participants will be continuously invited to share your own experience in projects, so it will be an interactive setting.

  • Starting a project: how do you set-up a project? What steps should you take?
  • What aspects which play a role in every communication process, such as a meeting?
  • How do I know what my responsibility is in the group with whom I am in a project?

Evening 2: Thursday November 14th 2024

Evening 3: Thursday November 28th 2024

  • You will be working with your own challenging practical cases, which are currently relevant for you. You will experience a change from patterns and pitfalls to growing self-awareness and more effective strategies.
